Celebrating 1 year in Service.

So as you know our little man turned one a couple of weeks ago. I originally had another theme in mind for his party but my husband vetoed it and so I decided on an airplane themed birthday party. I worked on this party for weeks but I am glad to say that I think it turned out okay.
My first step was the invitation
We didn't actually send out invitations but we did message everyone through Facebook and we posted a picture of the invite. I guess you could say everyone received an "e-ticket"!!! My best was when I saw a cousin of mine had even printed out her "e-ticket".

When people first arrived they were all pointed in the right direction with these signs I made:
I then had a "drop off zone" for all the presents. All I did was take an empty suitcase, which I put on the floor with a sign above. It was pretty cute.
There was also a food court for all the travelers to eat at. The food was also based on the theme.

Since it was a party for a 1 year old we just put out a whole bunch of toys and the little ones were kept busy for ages. For the older children who were at the party I baked airplane and cloud shaped biscuits which they then had fun decorating and eating.

When it came time for the party to end each child was taken to baggage claim where they were able to collect these cute suitcases I made as party favours.
Oh and did you notice all the little airplanes I had placed around the party, well I even added a little something to them to go with the party. Take a look:
I really had a great time putting this party together and we all really enjoyed celebrating with our little man. I am already thinking of the next party I want to do (which is only a month and a bit away).
Hope you enjoyed taking a look at our Airplane Themed Birthday Party.

All things Butterfly

Very good friends of our also celebrated their daughters 1st birthday this month.  So when I found out that the theme for her party was going to be butterflies I decided that whatever I did for her should be around the theme.
So this is what I came up with:
I just love how this card came out:
See the small detail in this corner? If you can see it is the same thing that is on the butterfly?!
And the party was fantastic. The theme was carried out beautifully throughout the whole party. Take a look:
It truly was a beautiful party and I am so glad we are able to be together to celebrate such wonderful times.

Our little man turned 1!!!!

A couple of weeks ago our little man  turned one. We were all very excited to celebrate with him. It was an amazing day. The day started off with him having some playtime (quality time) with his older brother (our angel) and opening up the present he got from him. They then spent time "together" playing with the new toy.  Then once our angel went off to school. Myself and the little man went off for a great playdate with some of his friends (of course I had some of my friends there too, to keep me company). We all had such a great time at a soft play place that they have just opened up in our area.

The little man was so tired after his awesome playdate that he passed out for a good afternoon nap. So hubby and I had lunch together (in honour of the birthday boy of course).

Of course I had to do a couple of crafty things for him for his special day.
I also baked some cupcakes for him and while we skyped with my parents he had a chance to try his 1st ever  cupcake .
It was really a great day :)

Fuelled by Creativity or is it maybe OCDness!!!

As I sit here with my laptop in front of me I am inspired to really have a go at this blog thing. By having this blog I want to share my crafty ideas as well as my love for the small precious moments in life with the world.

So take a few minutes to read a little bit about me. I am a mommy to two precious little boys and I have a husband who is just the most amazing man ever. I love to look at something and see how I can change it into a beautiful project. I am always working on something. Whether it is planning a party, working on a scrapbook layout, making a birthday card or a creative box or even decorating a table for a Friday night dinner. I just love being creative with everything in life. There are projects all around me.

So please join me on this new adventure of mine so that I can share my crafty obsession with you.
